R.I.P --Teena Marie..A Fellow Curly Girl..

She had one of the most amazing voices I ever heard..
She was one of my idols...
Sadly she was found by her daughter...which her birthday was yesterday....
My mom told me that she had an accident YEARS ago and because of that she had seizures...
She will be sadly missed
&& Never forgotten.

Natural Hair Plans for 2011

My hair this month...December 2010...



Wayyyy back when...My hair when I BC'ed September 2009...

Since I had reached a milestone...Collarbone length hair...YEAHHH BAYBEEEE!!-My goals have changed...

My real goal is to reach "Bra Strap Length" in a wash and go by March 2012...Since that was the month(March 2009) I decided to become natural...


Well,im not sure...I want a length like Tanika Ray's... her hair is in layers so I want something similar to her length...lol

My usual routine seems to be working so I can going to stick to what I usually do but add some things...

1.DEEP CONDITION MORE OFTEN...(I HAVE TO DO THIS!!)buy that hair steamer I always wanted...uggh
2.Continue to use a little heat as possible...If I use heat..I use a diffuser on warm heat...
3. Less Pepsi...more water...nuff said..
4. Coconut Oil, Olive Oil and Jojoba Oil will continue to be my hair best buddies..My hair likes Grapeseed oil as well.
5.Continue to take Omega 3,6 and 9 supplements...they help my hair grow wonderfully...and my skin glow like it was nobody's business..
6. Buy more Kinky Curly Leave in...My hair loves that..
7. Try Natural Sunshine's Shea Butters for body and hair...Always wanted to try her products...just been too damn forgetful...I am a Natural Sunshine Girl so I might as well try her products...
8.Continue to do chunky twist-outs/braid-outs...My hair loves that..but to "refreshen" the style every other day...less manipulation ladies...
9. Continue to sleep with my satin bonnet and sleep with my satin pillow..All day errr day!!..
10.I will go to Hair Rules salon in NYC and get a wash, blow-out and trim every 4-6 months...Dailey can do my hair anytime...Love that Girl!!

A Little Inspiration....For Those Bad Days...

Wow...

Dec.09's photo was at my old house...It was a good year..it was three months after my Big Chop and I was still wondering...WTH to do with this hair...It was short...so all I was able to do was a Wash-n-Go... so I decided to color it. I had no idea my hair was able to grow that long so fast...

Fast Forward

Dec.10's photo was at work today...I realized how much my hair has grown...My hair is going through a growth spurt and I love it... my hair is low maintenance....I realize that my hair grows well without complicated hairstyles(loves braid-outs and twist-outs_...and loves water, coconut oil, olive oil and any water based-conditioner. It is protein sensitive but it loves soy protein...Weird huh??


Whenever I feel like I am having a bad hair day..I look at "way back when" and see where I came from...and it makes me look forward to what is coming in the future...

Victoria Secret-Exclusive Holiday Party((86th Street))..for Shoppers..

This Holiday Party was at 86th street and Lexington!!

Well, I thought it was going to be good.. but it kinda went downhill after 20 minutes of starting....I will tell you ppl...



The customer service was amazing..the girls were really nice and the security guards was actually not bothering a morena...(if you know what I mean)..it was cool...

The makeup artist was cool...her name is Geni..she can do a killer smokey eye...



It sucked afterwards because the place started to get really freaking hot...and then the DJ kept playing the same song over and over again...



I was dying of thirst..Then they finally announced that there was water...so my friend and I decided to some..but the water was ROOM TEMPERATURE....I thought at least it would be ice-cold...

The bottles were nice though...



Well, the good thing was that I found some amazing perfumes, sprays and body lotions that I will be getting as soon as I get paid...lol..Geni was very nice and I gave my bestie Gina a eyeshadow makeover...lol



Overall, I could have had a V8 and played with my dog...I didn't stay the whole time..I only stayed an hour then went to Starbucks and tweeted to my peeps..

Got My Hair did at Hair Rules!!!--&& other stuff...

----Note:-Sorry ladies and gents... I was moving for the past few days and I totally did not have any internet access and i had to wait a few days for the cable guy to come in and finally get my damn internet on...Anywhoo----

Yes!! One of my things off my Christmas list can be scratched off!!

I got my hair consulted, washed, cut, and styled at Hair Rules.

Dailey, the stylist gave me some great pointers...

I also went to another Hair Rules event... Called "Blow Me Away!". Dickey and his other hair stylists taught us how to use their new hair products called Blow Out your Kinks, Curls and waves..

It was very informative...

For my type of hair...which I know now that it is curly but dense...that I need to keep it hydrated all the time...&& if I wanted to get my hair straightened, I need to use a blow dryer with a come attachment and dry in sections. After that I need to use a flat-iron and flat iron in sections.. and always use a protectant like blow out your curls that they just debut so my curls will be curls when I decided to wash it after I straightened it.

It was great!!!

Pink 4 Friday Lipstick!!!!!!

Well, I am not a huge fan of her music...I love her view of fashion...and now its lipstick!!

MAC Cosmetics and Nicki Minaj have collaborated to make a beautiful pink lipstick called "Pink 4 Friday". Here's what MAC states on its website...

"A Limited Edition Lipstick personally designed by Nicki Minaj to celebrate the release of her debut album Pink Friday. Featuring a bright, creamy pink satin formula, Nicki's shade is only available online for four Fridays starting November 26, 2010."

And YES I got my lipstick as soon as the clock struck 12 honey!! and in LESS than two hours that lipstick sold out!!.. Trust me... a makeup FREAK I patiently waited to see how long it was going to sell out.. I know...weird huh..

I also saw some swatches of the lipstick and it is similar to Viva Glam Gaga..but a shade or two darker.. For us chocolate ladies...we might have to pair it with a darker pink because some ladies with a darker hue are scared they might look like a clown...Me personally, if I want to wear I color I will..no matter what shade it is...its all in fun in my book..

When I get it delivered I will take pics and do a review!!

Happy Thanksgiving Yall!!!

This is a pic of me from a boat ride a few days ago..

I wet then separated my hair into 12-15 parts && I did a simple chunky braid-out with Bee Mine Curly Butter and curled up the ends with small rollers..I also smoothed out some parts using aloe vera gel.
